Current News: The Library Bond Referendum, approved on November 4, 2008 in the general election vote, will significantly enhance Fulton County’s public libraries with 8 new libraries, 2 expanded libraries and 23 renovated libraries. The library system is currently developing a timeline for Phase I of the Facility Master Plan, which includes construction of eight new libraries and expansion of two libraries. Library staff is working with Fulton County Land Division to research possible sites for the new libraries, with the goal of making selections and beginning design in early 2010.The Library Board of Trustees will be recommending sites to the Fulton County Board of Commissioners who will make the final decisions. A project management firm will be selected in early 2010 to assist in Phase I of the Facility Master Plan, and the selection of architects and engineers is expected in 2010.
