Services

The Auburn Avenue Research Library provides a variety services for library patrons. Please visit the AFPLS website for information about and other AFPLS services.

As AARL fulfills its mandate and mission to preserve and make available primary resources by and about people of African descent, the growth in Collections requires that the current AARL Meeting Room Use Policy be suspended until further notice.

Effective January 31, 2009, AARL will no longer provide meeting room use to the general public. Special collaborative programming events and activities will be referred to the Research Library’s Administrative Office for consideration. Please know that the AARL staff may be able to refer you and/or your organization to other Atlanta-Fulton Public Library System’s branch locations’ meeting room space.

The Auburn Avenue Research Library features a non-circulating library of materials related to the world heritage of peoples of African descent. Due to the non-circulating policy of AARL, Inter-Library loan and materials from A-FPLS libraries are not returned at the Auburn location. Patrons may return materials at nearby Central Library or the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Branch Library at 409 John Wesley Dobbs Avenue.
